The Ministry of Economic Development hosts in Palazzo Piacentini (via Veneto, Rome) the exhibit ITALIA GENIALE, that guides visitors in a journey through the history and the masterpieces of Italian industrial design.

The exhibition, that premiered at EXPO 2020 in Dubai with the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has been realized in cooperation with ADI (Association for Industrial Design), Unioncamere and the Italian Trade Agency.

The exhibit has been realized with the advising of Carlo Martino (La Sapienza University) and Francesco Zurlo (Politecnico University), the supervision of Luciano Galimberti and Andrea Cancellato, director of ADI Design Museum, and the support of studio SM5 and Ivo Caruso.

The new, special lighting for Sironi’s stained glass and for the main hall of the Ministry has been realized in cooperation with Acea.

The exhibit, covering a timeframe that goes from the 30s of last century to our days, displays a selection of over 60 world-famous icons of Italian design and introduces a season of cultural initiatives focused on encouraging citizens and tourists to discover the cultural heritage of the Ministry.

This series of initiatives will be concluded by a final celebration that will take place on November 30th 2022, on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of Palazzo Piacentini, historical seat of the Ministry of Economic Development opened in 1932.
